Sofia Goscinski, geboren 1979 in Wien, ist eine österreichische Künstlerin, die für ihre interdisziplinären Arbeiten bekannt ist. Ihre Werke bewegen sich zwischen Skulptur, Installation, Fotografie, Video und Performance und setzen sich intensiv mit Themen wie Wahrnehmung, Körperlichkeit, psychischen Zuständen und gesellschaftlichen Strukturen auseinander. Ab 2005 verlagerte Goscinski ihren Schwerpunkt auf die Bildhauerei, wobei sie weiterhin in verschiedenen Medien wie Grafik, Text, Video, Fotografie, Installation und Performance arbeitet.
Goscinski absolvierte ihre Ausbildung an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien sowie an der École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts an der Villa Arson in Nizza. Während ihres Studiums entwickelte sie ein starkes Interesse für Minimal Art und Konzeptkunst, das sie in ihren späteren Arbeiten weiterentwickelte. Anfangs arbeitete sie hauptsächlich mit Fotografie, bevor sie ihr Spektrum auf digitale Kunst, Video und später auch auf Bildhauerei und Installationen erweiterte.
Sofia Goscinski, born in Vienna in 1979, is an Austrian artist known for her interdisciplinary work. Her works move between sculpture, installation, photography, video and performance and deal intensively with themes such as perception, physicality, psychological states and social structures. From 2005, Goscinski shifted her focus to sculpture, although she continues to work in various media such as graphics, text, video, photography, installation and performance.
Goscinski completed her training at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts at the Villa Arson in Nice. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in minimal art and conceptual art, which she developed further in her later works. She initially worked mainly with photography before expanding her spectrum to include digital art, video and later sculpture and installations.
